Practicing Tenderness

“You don’t blast a heart open,”…”You coax and nurture it open, like the sun does to a rose.”~ Melody Beattie

…pain reaches a certain point and does not get worse but remains in all its intensity and you can survive it.” ~Robert Cormie

“Tenderness and kindness are not signs of weakness and despair, but manifestations of strength and resolution.”~Kahlil Gibran

A few days ago I left Calgary on a business trip to Rutland, Ohio.  My intention was to attend a two day workshop called “Nurturing Your Botanical Sanctuary” at the United Plant Savers, Goldenseal Botanical Sanctuary.  After taking two flights and then driving in a rental car, my enthusiasm and jittery anticipation soon gave way to outright panic as I ended up lost late at night, with a dead cell phone, in rural southern Ohio.  I could not make out the complicated roadway system in the dark, and after stopping for help twice and a better road map, well meaning natives gave me the wrong information that detoured me an additional two hours.  As the night went on, I had a panic attack and pulled over to the side of the road to have a good cry and mull over my options.  My thought process vacillated between feeling sorry for myself, beating myself up for not having made sure my cell phone charger was working (Oh to have a GPS!), telling myself that it was ridiculous to come all this way to support medicinal plant conservation, and wanting to turn around and go back to the airport.  I became very angry at myself and the Universe for stretching my comfort zone in unfamiliar territory, especially as my blood sugar started to dive.  I was not at all in the mood for practicing tenderness with myself, or trusting the flow of life, and in doing so missed the importance and meaning at that moment of my “adventure in the Appalachian Outback”.

After settling down and breathing, I resolved to find the inn that I was to stay at, even if it took all night, and to trust myself that I could get there.  I told myself that I had made the intuitive choice to come on the trip and my soul knew why.  And that I was my own support system and could withstand this spiritual trial.  As soon as I did that my phone, which had been dead, flashed on.  I used the remaining power to call the inn, get better directions, and wove my way through the dark countryside, narrowly missing two deer and a raccoon,  to a hot bath and a comfortable bed.

Practicing tenderness means taking actions that reflect the wisdom of our heart, and practicing kindness and caring toward ourselves and others.  As we continue our way through Mercury Retrograde and beyond in October, this is a month to practice tenderness.  As the 2015 grand finale of finding our Sovereign self lays out its lessons before us, we can feel very unstable as illusion is stripped away at lightning speed, more chaos ensues and we are challenged to stand in our power and trueness.  There is an open,  gaping rawness as we shift to live more from our soul, and less from the ego which can make us feel very unsettled and fragile.  Our faith and inner knowing are tested.  We feel the suffering of separation from what we thought we knew to be real, and will do anything to mitigate or avoid the pain as we awaken.  Fight, flight or inertia, along with addictions, drama and distractions are our course of action, unless we find the courage and resilience to stand in the onslaught, and prop ourselves up with encouragement, love and support.

Whatever our inner and outer adventures are this month, we have the opportunity to stand back and reflect on what is going on inside of us, to see through self deception, find meaning and practice tenderness with ourselves and others.  A balm of calmness will surround us as we stand in our wounding, soak in the healing and bathe in more wholeness.  We come closer to ourselves and to One Heart.  We are healing, we are One.

Love,

Samantha

Physical and Psycho spiritual symptoms and predictions for October:

As I mentioned in September – during autumn the world will become more chaotic and explosive; there will be more death and rebirth, more weather consequences of climate change, political unrest (and certain leaders will become more volatile and paranoid), as well as more financial fall-out.  Nothing will feel stable and there will be great anxiety in the collective consciousness.  October elections in Canada (and the U.S.) are almost upon us; there is still indecision about a clear winner, most are not enamoured by any one candidate, which will continue until about five days before election day.  I still feel we will be surprised at the outcome.  The spiritual lesson that will be taught through these elections is this:  we cannot rely on any one person, institution or government to save us.  No more blaming or being apathetic.  We are the ones we have been waiting for; we must step up and change what needs to be changed to make a better world.

I also mentioned last month that it will take a renewed sense of our courage, self-love and tenacity this fall  to cut through any remaining illusion to cement in a positive destiny.  October is a time to be more gentle with ourselves and others.  It will be a busy month and our stamina is flagging.

Following the huge influx of new energy brought forth by the September lunar eclipse and a myriad of solar flares there after, our sense of power is shifting and our Christ Consciousness (or empowered compassion) is entrenching into the collective consciousness.   This means that we will be looking at the world through a different lens and will therefore be almost forced to make decisions based more on balanced head and heart choices.  For those still struggling with their ego, anger and fear, it will topple their sense of stability.  This month we are doing our final life line-up, as November is going to bring in another huge aperture of consciousness due to many cosmic influences, almost as strong as September.  We need to be anchored in by then in the next stage of our earthly purpose so that we are prepared for more shifting within our DNA and cells to an outlook on life that mirrors the highest good for all.  If you feel the urge to change something in your life – do it this month or at least set the wheels of destiny in motion!

The flu has mutated into the stomach version, so protect your immune system and get plenty of rest. There will be more viral outbreaks this fall as they are related to fear and seem to follow each upshift in frequency.   We will experience sinus, lung and nasal issues, weepy eyes, red/irritated eyes, more emotional release, periods of grieving and anger, tense muscles all over, digestive disturbance, frazzled nervous system and sometimes feel mentally unstable.  As we upshift to higher consciousness you must continue to get more rest, drink lots of water and eat well, as this will help you interact better with others and keep your body and mind anchored.  Otherwise your health issues will spiral and you will find symptoms increase.
