The Sacrifice

“Great achievement is usually born of great sacrifice, and is never the result of selfishness.” ~Napoleon Hill

“Every successful individual knows that his or her achievement depends on a community of persons working together.”  ~Paul Ryan

“Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles, discouragements, and impossibilities: It is this, that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak.”~Thomas Carlyle

“We must regain the conviction that we need one another, that we have a shared responsibility for others and the world, and that being good and decent are worth it.”~ Pope Francis

On June 11, 1963, in Saigon, Vietnam, a Buddhist monk, Thich Quang Duc immolated himself in a busy intersection.  The 67 year old monk calmly seated himself in the lotus position, had two other fellow monks pour gasoline over him and then he set his own body on fire.  His heart, now a holy relic, remained intact after the burning.  His act of self-sacrifice horrified most of the Western world, who could not fathom what would drive an individual to such a brutal altruistic death.  Self-immolation has been around for centuries and has mainly been used as an act of ultimate protest, in the hope of benefiting all of humanity.  Thich Quang Duc was protesting religious persecution of the Buddhists in South Vietnam by the politically and militarily powerful Vietnamese Roman Catholics who were backed by the United States.   He felt it was the only way to gain international attention about the atrocities being committed around him; sacrificing his life was the most he had to lose and to give in the hope that things would change.

This type of martyrdom is in stark contrast to the hedonistic and self-centered culture in North America, where spirituality is centered on the personal, with little sacrifice primarily to achieve personal spiritual gain.  Our main focus has been our career, position, material goods, family and how to pay for it all.  Spirituality, acts of service and self-sacrifice come as an afterthought, on weekends, later in life, or not at all.  And if we do have to sacrifice, we generally resent it and complain.  North Americans are the champions of naval gazing, over indulgence, addiction, suppression, denial, being enslaved to the “system” and playing it safe.  Despite most of us having all our basic needs met, and then some, many still feel dead inside, directionless, and despondent.

However, in this Year of Sovereignty, we are collectively waking up to realize that without taking risk, challenging the current “system”, and banning together nothing will change.   We have been clearing out the old programming in our body, heart and mind, and listening to the call of the Soul to find more passion, self-love and empowerment.  No matter how much security and comfort we may covet, we have now collectively chosen to cross a Threshold that depends on courageous change and conscious sacrifice to bring about peace, equality and unity. But the clock is ticking and our planet is getting very restless.  She cannot wait much longer for us to fully commit to One Heart.

In July, the Universe will direct us to continue to mindfully sacrifice more of what we don’t need, balance out the needs of all and be true to who we are.  It may come in the form of less material things, more risk, stepping further into our empowerment, seeking help from others, supporting others, more responsibility, spiritual challenges, change of career, more creativity, coming out of the “closet”; whatever is needed for each of us to grow and manifest our truth in soulful co-creation with the Universe.  We are leaving what we know but grabbing hold of what we fear in the same proportion and if one is truly living through it, despite the not knowing, there is excitement at the mystery unfolding before us.  Moving forward we will deepen our understanding that sacrificing what we thought we needed allows us to receive in other abundant ways.  Our heart and mind are continuing to expand and we are learning to equally shoulder responsibility for the fate of ourselves, the human race and the planet.

Soulful Blessings,

Samantha

Physical and Psycho spiritual symptoms and predictions for July:

It’s time YOU take it up a notch and then some! You are FEELING more and more what it is to be human with each passing month, and being asked to redirect the course of your life and of humanity – from destruction to creation!  It’s a muddy, sticky and sometimes catastrophic process to grow spiritually, take more responsibility and heed your inner calling– to cultivate more inner peace and soul-powered action but with courage, faith and perseverance it can be done!

What you should focus on in July:

The cosmic events this month will allow you to be mindful of where you are burying your pain, fear, guilt, family issues, sexuality, aggression and self-hatred.  The truth will set you free so be responsible and feel your distress and center yourself, otherwise you will continue to be triggered in a non -conscious and perhaps addictive or destructive way!  Allow time for reflection so that you can feel your way through it, shift your perspective and let go!  In doing so you can return from illusion to a place of inner knowing.  Also let go of anything tangible that you do not need – clear out more clutter!  This allows love and light to bath all wounding and find resolution.  Also continue to pursue your deepest creative dream, no matter how impossible it seems as this allows self-love.  flow, higher consciousness and passion. Remember that you are limitless!  And finally, work on communicating, bonding with and forgiving others.  Commit to success and abundance for yourself and all of humanity!  Release competition, jealousy and hate.  Have faith that no matter how your life or the world “looks” it is going to turn out for the best.

Know that you may experience digestive issues, tight shoulders, menstrual irregularities, throat issues, back/hip issues, heart palpitations, heart ache, heat flushes, rapid downloading type dreams, disturbed sleep patterns, more tears, sobs, and great letting go this month, especially around the two rare full moons (see below).

Pictured:  Angelica (Angelica archangelica) – is as sweet as the angels – used to make candy, leaves in a tea used to treat alcoholism, seeds used to flavour many liquors, wine and food, and this plant treat all kinds of ailments. Joins heaven and earth and therefore anchors and balances the soul – allows one to realize that an arduous path is strengthening the spirit so that one may persist in one’s goal of ascension and learn to trust that each earthly step brings one closer to the light of one’s Soul.
